Fall Giveaway Day 1

We're linking up with Vicki Welsh of Field Trips in Fiber blog this week for her Fall Festival Giveaway, and doing our own giveaway as well.  All of the items will feature thermofax screens and/or screen printing, since that is our PG Fiber2Art business.

Our first day giveaway is a screen printed scarf.  This one-of-a-kind 100% silk scarf is 10" wide by 58" long.  It is hand dyed in pastel shades and screen printed with thickened dye with a square in a square design.  Hand wash; hang to dry.

If you would like a chance to win this scarf, leave a comment about screen printing - have you ever tried it?  What kinds of designs do you like?   The giveaways will run Tuesday through Saturday.  All winners will be announced on Tuesday, Oct. 21.  Good luck!

  1. Years ago when I was in junior high we had a mandatory "Shop" class. Every few weeks the "shop" would change. We had wood shop, metal shop, model building, and many more. One of them was Screen printing, we each made our own screen and printed one item. Do they even offer these classes anymore?

  2. What a lovely scarf ladies - thank you for sharing it. I would love to see a Redbird (Cardinal) design. Is that hard to do ? Oh what fun -- I will check out more of your info soon. PS - I shared your giveaway over on Missouri Mel's giveaway Roundup (http://missourimel.com/2014/10/12/giveaway-roundup-79/) -- trying to get the word out on your spectacular work. Thanks so much -- Karen www.redbirdquiltco.com

    1. Karen, thanks for your kind comments. I will see what I can do about a redbird screen, good idea as the cardinal is the state bird here in Virginia!

  8. Although I have never personally tried screen printing, I have watched an art class print T-shirts from designs they created and I would live the opportunity to try it myself! I think that the screen printing on silk is very beautiful!!

  13. I have never done any silk screen printing. The designs I like are modern florals, some abstracts, geometric designs like yours - and I really love colour grading - if that's what it's called - going from light to dark in the same colour, or from one colour fading into another.

  24. I've done small pieces of fabric with paint, ink, etc but never screen printing. I would love to make custom fabric for my quilting. At the moment there is no way to keep 4 sets of little paws out of my work - we live in an open loft and I think my spouse would frown on me taking the only bathroom as a "studio". Thanks!
