Summer Give-Away Day 5

It's the final day of our summer give-away.  I hope the rest of the summer doesn't go by as quickly as  this week has!  For the last offering, I have a group I'm calling "sea and sand".  It's two half-yards of hand dyed fabric - one is a blue-green that was snow dyed (sea); the other is a piece that was created by rusting (sand). 

To go with the sea and sand theme are two small thermofax screens - a nautilus and a sea shell. Both are in the 2.5-3 inch size range.   These will be added to the Etsy shop soon!

Summer Give-Away Day 4

It's day 4 of the summer give-away!  Wow, where is this week going?  First, a slight correction to Monday's and Wednesday's squares.  I listed the smaller squares as 3", when actually they are 4"!  So that's a good thing, right?  A bit more fabric than you thought, and if you need a smaller size, you can always cut them down!

Now on to today's offering which is another set of squares - this time a group of Asian prints (most have some woven-in metallic threads).  There are 54 5-inch squares, plus 32 3 3/4-inch squares.   The 5" squares are assorted prints, but the 3 3/4" squares are all the same.  These squares also have one corner trimmed, but it falls outside the 1/4" seam allowance.  These are leftovers from a project, but it is a lovely background/neutral fabric so hopefully you can find a use for them. I think I have finished with the Asian fabric phase, at least for now.

So, what thermofax screen would work well with these Asian prints?  (Not that you have to use it with them.)  How about a screen of ginkgo leaves?  This screen image measures 4 1/2 x 4 inches.

Summer Give-Away Day 3

It's day 3 of the summer give-away!  Today we're back to some more batik squares - another group of 45 5-inch squares, plus 23 3-inch squares.  This is similar to Monday's group, a lot of the same fabrics but a few different ones.  As mentioned with the first group, these are not charm packs, there are singles, duplicates and multiples.

In addition, we will include this popular thermofax screen of Queen Ann's lace, 6 x 3".

Summer Give-Away Day 2

It's day 2 of the summer give-away!  Today's offering is a group of 5 prints on Cherrywood and/or other hand dyed fabrics, raging in size from about 6x9 up to 8x11.  These could be incorporated into quilts, used individually to make a small quilt or wall art, appliqued to a bag or purse, made into a pillow top, or any other use you can think of.

As you can see, all but one are nature prints.  So to go with these prints, how about a bird thermofax screen?  This bird measures 4.5 x 2.5 inches.

Summer Give-Away Day 1

Vicki Welsh has a great summer color give-away starting today, and has offered to let other blogs link to hers with their own give-aways.  So we're going to give it a whirl, with 5 days of  give-aways! 

After Sue's spring cleaning a few weeks ago, she had some batik scraps that she cut up into squares.  The give-away for today, Monday, June 8, is this group of 45 5-inch batik squares, along with 23 3-inch squares.  These are NOT charm packs - there are 2 squares of most fabrics, a few are singles, and the black print with colored rectangles has the most pieces.
